Unlike KF, this big guy is a lot harder to hear so there is a chance that he may sneak up on you. Very big and very angry, his charge is both fearsome and extremely dangerous. Keep shooting/Pulverizing and make sure your area is clear of other trash Zeds.

  • It is much easier and safer to simply run around him in circles. Sprint to right (the Scrake's non-chainsaw arm) and stay tight to his back so that he is constantly trying to turn towards you.
  • Back up, wait to parry, then stagger again because it has a cooldown. The Pulverizer heavy attack staggers the Scrake. This takes very good timing and I recommend body armor when you try it.
  • A Berserker can play parry-hit-parry with one reasonably well if they're armed with the Pulverizer.
  • In the higher difficulties, a Scrake can take you down from 100% health to dead in 1-2 hits if you're not wearing armor. Where before it was possible to Fire Axe stun him or make an easy headshot with the crossbow in KF, Early Access players don't have nearly the same kind of firepower.

Seriously dangerous once he closes in, so don't let him corner you. The difference is that if a Fleshpound runs straight into your team, if you run away for a bit without dying, it'll calm down again and you can survive, unlike the Scrake who will relentlessly murder you. You'll know when this one is inbound by the sound. The thing is that it's so easy to cancel their rage by running away long enough and losing line of sight that you can pretty much kite them just like Scrakes. Theoretically, the fact that Fleshpounds enrage on their own is probably supposed to make them more of a threat, because it means you can't just kite them. Because they never stop, they can wreck your team very quickly. Scrakes enrage after taking damage, which means they can be somewhat easily kited if you avoid shooting them, but they never stop. Both seem to deal similar amounts of damage (except you can circle-strafe Scrakes, which I honestly hope they don't keep in the game, it feels kind of stupid and makes the much less reliable parrying mechanic useless by comparison) and eat similar amounts of bullets (which seems odd, Fleshpounds were much tankier relative to Scrakes in KF1, weren't they?). I think that the issue with Scrakes is the way their damage and HP combines with the way they rage.
